A lifelong attraction to the ‘red rocks’ set in expansive landscapes of the southwest inspire me to paint. Sandstone rock formations of Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah contrast the uncompromising blue of water (Lake Powell) and sky with the peach and red colors of the rocks. Window Rock, Arizona, was my playground in my youth. The Arches National Park, Utah, provides great challenges in both art and recreation.
